When to cut, how to dry, and how to store what you grow. Kitchen and medicinal crops only — restricted plants and poison-garden specimens have no harvest notes here.
Reminders
Harvest this week
A Monday-morning note of plants in season on this bench. On iPhone it is a native notification — it still fires if the app is closed.
On the website, the browser may ask to notify you.
How to process
Methods
Shelf extract
Folk spirit maceration
A traditional folk jar: loosely packed dried herb, spirit to cover, 4–6 weeks in the dark, shaken when you remember, then strained. Fresh wilted herb is a wetter jar and a shorter life. This is a household extract, not a standardized dose. Dropper math belongs to a clinician and a labeled product.
You will need
A clean jar
40–50% drinking spirit
A label and a dark cupboard
Not for
Restricted or illegal species
Toxic and deadly plates
Anyone avoiding alcohol
Making a ‘stronger’ jar to treat a disease
If you need a reliable milligram, buy a licensed product. A cupboard jar is folklore in a bottle.
