Damiana

Turnera diffusa

Medicinal herbsHarvest

A small yellow-flowered shrub of Mexican dryland — a bitter-aromatic tea with a long bedroom reputation it has not entirely earned.

Damiana is a Turnera of Mexico and the Caribbean drylands. Traditional use is as a nervine and an aphrodisiac folklore. The tea is bitter-aromatic, pleasant in a blend. Culinary-tea amounts are the path. Extracts sold as a male tonic are a louder product. This plate is a cup, not a promise.

Flavor

Fig, chamomile-bitter, a little spice. Better blended than alone.
